Before you go

The surface over the Pontón towards Oseja de Sajambre has been rough in places; the Beyos half is better. Watch for cattle on the road, then pick up the AS-114 at Cangas.

Which way round

South to north: up the Esla from Crémenes, over the Pontón, then down the Beyos gorge to Cangas de Onís.

When it’s open

Normally open all year, though snow can close it for a day or two.
