Before you go
Large vehicles and caravans are signed off the narrow north side. Use the lay-bys to let oncoming cars through, and stop at the summit car park for the view both ways.
Which way round
Dingle to Kilcummin: climb the wider south side and take the narrow north side downhill.
When it’s open
Normally open all year, though snow can close it for a day or two.
